Europe needs to ensure its truck and bus industry is not only sustainable but can stay competitive globally

In the second episode of ACEA’s #UpToSpeed interview series, Sigrid de Vries sits down with Harald Seidel, CEO of DAF Trucks, and recently elected Chairperson of ACEA’s Commercial Vehicle Board.

In this one-on-one sit down with ACEA’s Director General, Harald Seidel sheds light on the indispensable role of trucks and buses in keeping Europe’s economy on the move. He elaborates on why policy makers should better recognise the differences with passenger cars when regulating the truck and bus sectors.  

Discussing the EU’s recent landmark agreement establishing the most ambitious CO2 reduction standards for trucks and buses globally, Seidel underscored the importance of ensuring equally ambitious enabling conditions, like robust charging infrastructure, are swiftly put in place.
